September 2026: Sabotage, Buried Claims, and Stories in Motion

A new month has begun, and September left Epsilon Fleet with no shortage of stories in motion.

Across the USS Arawyn and Starbase 369, the month moved from quiet character moments into abduction, sabotage, buried history, and political pressure. We also released five new mission summaries on YouTube for anyone who wants to catch up without reading every post.

USS Arawyn: the quiet did not last

The Doldrums — the USS Arawyn crossing quiet deep space.
The Doldrums — quiet space, character stories, and the calm before the crisis.

September began in the open space of The Doldrums. The crew settled into the smaller rhythms of shipboard life: medical work on beta shift, music in an observation lounge, difficult conversations, and the conclusion of Grayson McKinney and Claire Dunross’s Ninety-One Seconds command exercise.

Then the Arawyn’s apparent systems failure revealed itself as deliberate sabotage. Two members of the crew were killed, Lieutenant Commander Aev Flammia was taken, and a shuttle disappeared while the ship struggled to restore damaged systems. Captain Corbin and her senior staff have begun reconstructing the attack and following the probe trail toward Corvanis.

Beyond the Raptor’s Veil — Aev’s search reaches the Tal’Shiar facility.

Away from the ship, Beyond the Raptor’s Veil pushed Aev’s story into much darker territory. He learned that Ignis had sacrificed himself to protect him, discovered that his biological mother was alive inside a Tal’Shiar facility, and joined a Reman assault built around a captured Romulan vessel and a dangerous deception. By the end of September, Aev had found Saetare, but the battle around them was far from over.

Fleet Operations: a claim that will not stay buried

The Heir of a Buried World — an Epsilon Fleet plot featuring Vice Admiral Sidra MacLaren and Seren Val Tareth.
The Heir of a Buried World — a verified claim forces old powers to confront buried history.

At Starbase 369, The Heir of a Buried World moved from mystery into proof. Seren Val Tareth’s identity and lineage were independently verified, and the Continuance Archive he carried was confirmed as more than a family relic. It is evidence with legal, historical, and political weight.

Vice Admiral Sidra MacLaren gave formal notice of Seren’s verified claim, drawing attention from the Tarethani Protectorate and from institutions that had allowed the history of Tareth-Kal to become convenient silence. The question facing Fleet Operations is no longer whether Seren’s story is true. It is whether the fleet can protect him, preserve the evidence, and give the law enough room to work before political pressure decides the matter first.

Looking ahead

October opens with the Arawyn damaged but in pursuit, Aev caught inside a battle tied to his own history, and Fleet Operations facing a claim that could force several governments to confront the past. There is plenty still unresolved, and plenty of room for the next character decision to change the direction of the story.

Thank you to everyone who wrote, plotted, edited, narrated, listened, or simply followed along during September. These stories continue because people make room for one another’s characters and ideas.

Onward to October.
